Working within a Policy and or Advocacy team is a dynamic multi-faceted role requiring strong analytical, communication and leadership skills to navigate complex policy landscapes to achieve favourable outcomes for your organisation. Typically, a role will include:

Policy Development

Research and analyse existing policies as well as gather information to draft new policies or revise existing ones. This involves a good understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks, industry standards and orgisational needs.

Stakeholder Engagement

Policy professionals will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including government officials, industry experts, advocacy groups and internal teams to gather input, build consensus and ensure alignment between a diverse group of stakeholders.

Implementation Planning

Once a policy is developed Policy professionals will establish an implementation plan which will involve establishing timelines, resource planning, defining responsibilities and communicating to all stakeholders of any changes.

Evaluation and Adjustment

Policy Mangers / Leads will evaluate the effectiveness of policies over time, gathering feedback, assess outcomes and make any necessary adjustments to address any potential risks as well as emerging issues or trends.

Advocacy and Communication

  Policy Managers and or Advocacy specialists will advocate for their organisation in public forums, engage in lobbying efforts and communicate with government stakeholders and policymakers to influence regulatory or legislative changes.
